Accounting Comprehensive, B.S.

The bachelor of science in accounting is designed to prepare students with the requisite skills for an entry-level position in the field of accounting, for the certified public accountant examination, and for continued education at the graduate level.  As part of the elective hours within the comprehensive accounting curriculum, students are encouraged to enroll in the accounting internship course as many of the internship experiences have led to full-time employment opportunities for the graduate.  Students may also minor in Accounting, which requires the completion of 15 hours of specific accounting courses.  Information about the minor can be found at the following link:  Accounting Minor  

Additionally, students may fulfill the 150 hour CPA licensure requirement by completing the Master of Business Administration (MBA)  degree at Shepherd University.  Information about the accelerated 4+1 Bachelors/Master of Business Administration degree can be found at the following link:  4+1 Bachelors/M.B.A. Option (Fifth-Year M.B.A.)

Students should complete their MATH requirement, ACCT 201 , ACCT 202 , BADM 224 , ECON 205 , and ECON 206  during their first two years of study.

Students cannot receive credit for ECON 123  after completing ECON 205  and ECON 206 .
