ANTH 316 - Forensic Anthropology(3cr) This class introduces forensic anthropology and explores the human skeleton as a means of reconstructing past lives through the archeological and forensic record. Students will study complete and, when available, fragmentary human skeletal remains and learn to identify the bones of the body, and to determine age at death, sex, presence of disease and other pathologies. Discussion topics will focus on archaeological and forensic applications. Students should expect to spend additional time outside of class to examine skeletal remains discussed in class.
