MUSC 342 - American Music(3 cr) An extensive survey of the rich variety of music found throughout the history of the United States. The course will begin with the music of the early Puritans and continue through the works of contemporary composers. The survey will incorporate music listening assignments, paper presentations, a class lecture-recital, and visits to area concerts featuring American composers and performers. Prerequisites: Declared music major or music minor with ; non-music majors must complete MUSC 111 with a grade of C or better.
