MATH 200 - Geometry and Measurement(3 cr) This course explores the fundamental ideas of planar and spatial geometry. Content includes the analysis and classification of geometric figures; the study of geometry transformations; the concepts of tessellation, symmetry, congruence, and similarity; connection of geometry to other mathematical topics and to nature and art; and an overview of measurement. The course also includes an introduction to the use of computers in the teaching and learning of informal geometry. Prerequisites: MATH 102 or permission of instructor.
