CHEM 428 - Thermodynamics(2 cr) A study of the principles underlying the content and transfer of energy in physical and chemical reactions. The classical laws of thermodynamics are introduced, and the concepts of free energy, entropy, work, and enthalpy are defined and subjected to a careful quantitative treatment. Prerequisites: CHEM 207 , CHEM 209 , PHYS 201 , PHYS 202 and math through calculus.
