FINC 308 - Introduction to Financial Planning

(3cr) A comprehensive introduction course on the fundamentals of financial planning. A review of the financial planning process and regulatory practices in the field of financial planning will be completed. Topics include personal cash flow, asset and liability management, life cycle financial planning (i.e., insurance), investment management, tax planning, and retirement and estate planning. Client communication strategies will also be examined. The ethical and legal issues in the planning process will be surveyed throughout the course.
