				History is the exploration of the past as a key to understanding the human condition. Historical study enables students to understand their own and other civilizations and to confront the present and future with intelligence and perspective. |  
													| Curriculum for a Major in History
  Specific Core Curriculum requirements:
  History majors must select:
  at least one course in Literature to meet their Tier 2 Humanities requirement; andat least one course in Economics and one course in Political Science to meet their Tier 2 Social Science requirement.
History majors enroll in one of three Concentrations:
