Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Colleges/Departments/Programs

Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary program that investigates interactions between humans and their environment. This includes physical and biological aspects in addition to the highly modified human-made environments such as urban and agricultural systems. The Comprehensive Environmental Studies major provides students an integrative foundation in biology, physical sciences, technologies, earth systems and humanities and social sciences needed to understand interactions between humans and their environment. Students also complete a concentration in Environmental Science, Aquatic Sciences, or Sustainable Agriculture and Resource Management.

Curriculum for a Comprehensive Major in Environmental Studies, B.S.

Portfolio Requirement for Environmental Studies Major:

It is required that each major complete a portfolio prior to graduation. See advisor for specific details.

Curriculum for a Comprehensive Major in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science Concentration, 75-76 Hours:

The environmental science concentration is designed to prepare the student for a future in scientific study of the environment, with the broad range of topics covered providing the student with perspective on the numerous parameters environmental scientists must consider in their work. Skills necessary for employment in the environmental field and graduate study are important components of this concentration.

In addition to the Environmental Core and Portfolio Requirements, above, students will complete the following:
