SOWK 340 - Professional Readiness (1cr) This one-credit course is designed for juniors and seniors who are exploring their options after graduation. Students will define their personal mission, explore potential career paths, and prepare for graduate school. The course covers practical skills such as writing resumes and cover letters, conducting job searches, and preparing for interviews. It also addresses the importance of professional licensure, continuing education, and lifelong learning. Students will develop a career and/or education plan and complete the course with a portfolio of tools designed to guide their short and long-term planning. While the course is tailored to students in the helping professions, it is open to all majors.
This course may be repeated to a maximum of 2 credits.
