CNSL 521 - Advanced Counseling Theory (3cr) This course offers an advanced, in-depth exploration of contemporary and traditional counseling theories and their application to clinical practice. Students critically analyze major counseling and psychotherapy models, including multicultural, feminist, cognitive-behavioral, Adlerian, and constructivist approaches. The course focuses on developing a personal integrative theoretical orientation, understanding the historical and sociocultural contexts of theories, and evaluating evidence-based counseling strategies. Ethical, cultural, and technological considerations in applying counseling theories are also emphasized.
