EDUC 572 - Special Methods of Teaching Social Studies(3cr) This course focuses on ways to organize and teach social studies courses at the middle school and high school levels. Students will explore strategies for teaching social studies, analyze current research and national/state standards, and create social studies lessons promoting student-centered pedagogy, interdisciplinary thinking, and diversity. The class includes a 20-hour field placement to provide opportunities for application of methods. Prerequisites: Admission to teacher education program.
