EDUC 578 - Special Methods of Teaching Family and Consumer Sciences(3cr) This course supports teacher candidates in developing pedagogical skills necessary for supporting student understanding of family and consumer science relevant concepts, career, and technical skills. A focus is placed on teaching methods that develop the problem-solving strategies secondary students need for learning a range of family and consumer science content. Candidates will develop lessons plans and get practical experience teaching and assessing student learning during a 20-hour field placement. Prerequisites: Admission to teacher education program.
