PSCI 454 - Constitutional Law 4: The Religion Clauses

(3 cr) This course utilizes Supreme Court decisions to introduce students to the meaning, application, and interaction of the establishment and free exercise clauses of the First Amendment.  Topics covered include government aid to religion, prayer in public schools, church autonomy, taxpayer standing under the establishment clause, conscientious religious objections, and dissemination of religious information. Prerequisites: PSCI 100  or PSCI 101  or permission of instructor.
