HIST 150 - First-Year Experience “Reel” History

(1cr) This course is intended to integrate students into the life and culture of Shepherd University and to the History major, as well as prepare them to succeed in the liberal arts and humanities.  Topics include an overview of the field of history, faculty and research conducted in the program, methods of historical research, career opportunities in the field, and strategies for a sucessful university experience. This course will cultivate skills such as critical reading, analysis, writing, documentation, and discussion.  Previously titled “First-Year Experience “Reel” History”.
