PSYC 309 - Psychopathology

(3 cr) Psychopathology focuses on the patterns of emotion, thought, and behavior that can be signs of a psychological disorder.  Key concepts include how psychopathology can be viewed through many different lenses, that mental disorders often have multiple causes, including genes and experiences, and that cultures may differ in what might be considered a disorder.  Scientifically grounded methods of assessment and treatment are emphasized.  Previously titled Abnormal Psychology.
