BIOL 315 - Plants and Humanity(4 cr) This course is intended to give an appreciation of the critical importance of plants in human society. This course is divided into 4 major themes, (1) Form and Function, (2) Physiology, (3) Agriculture & (4) Plants and Human Culture. Each theme builds on the other to give students a comprehensive knowledge of the integral role plants play in our living biosphere. Students develop an understanding of the historical and contemporary roles plants play in the everyday lives of humans and think critically about plant use in the future of human society. Previously titled Advanced Plant Biology. Prerequisites: BIOL 211 and BIOL 212 or instructor permission.
