EDUC 356 - Elementary Science Methods

(3cr) This course is designed to build fundamental knowledge of elementary science teaching and learning, including standards-based curriculum design and research-based teaching strategies. The course focuses on developing inquiry-based lessons, using educational technologies to support science teaching, cross-curricular integration, inclusion, and assessment. The teacher candidates will plan and teach lessons for students to learn science, implementing best teaching practices that are taught in this course, assess student learning, and reflect on teaching practice. Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education Program. Corequisite: EDUC 358 .
