MUSC 511 - Kodály II(3 cr) Continuation of study of the philosophy, curricular ideals, materials, teaching strategies, and musicianship of Kodály music education, for teaching the next advanced learners; includes a lab component. Students continue to develop their own musicianship in music literacy (including use of solfe, Curwen hand signs, and rhythm syllables) and score analysis; increase their repertoire of high-quality folk songs and other music, particularly choral music; and develop skill in analysis, classification, storage, and retrieval of folk songs by adding to their analyzed folk song collections. Prerequisites: MUSC 510 - Kodály I .
