Early Education PreK-K Teaching Endorsement

Students who are especially interested in education in day care centers, pre-kindergarten classrooms, or at the kindergarten level may wish to add this endorsement to the elementary education K-6 program. Upon completion of the four courses below, successful student teaching at the kindergarten level, and satisfactory completion of the elementary education K-6 program, a student may be recommended for certification in both areas.

EDUC 315 - Overview of Early Education (2cr)
EDUC 315L - Overview of Early Education Practicum (1cr)
EDUC 334 - Early Language and Literacy (3 cr)
EDUC 334L - Early Language and Literacy Practicum (1cr)
EDUC 335 - Young Children with Exceptionalities (3cr)
EDUC 335L - Young Children with Exceptionalities Practicum (1cr)
FACS 304 - Child Development (3 cr)
OR PSYC 341 - Infant/Child Development (3 cr)

Note(s):

Practicum courses are taken concurrently with the seminar class for a companion course. This includes EDUC 315/315L, EDUC 334/334L, and EDUC 335/335L.

EDUC 315/315L and FACS 304/PSYC 341 are offered every semester.

EDUC 334/334L are offered in Spring semesters.

EDUC 335/335L are offered in Fall semesters.
