HIST 110 - The Western Tradition to 1400(3 cr) This course surveys the political, social, economic, cultural, and intellectual history of Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa from its origins to the close of the Middle Ages. It explores the development of government, the role of religion in society and culture, the emergence of secularism in Greece and Rome, the birth of scientific inquiry, the rise of Christianity and Islam, and relations among the peoples of the ancient and medieval world.
Fulfills Core Curriculum Tier One History requirement.
