(2 cr) The study of the evolution of the standard types of opera and oratorio. Appropriate literature for specific voice types is also studied for future teaching purposes. Attendance of opera productions in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., are scheduled for the class. Prerequisites: Declared music major or music minor or permission of instructor. Prerequisite/corequisite: MUSC 237.
