ENVS 345 - Sustainable Development and Laboratory(4 cr) This course will explore the concept of developing in an economically viable and sustainable manner that conserves environmental and cultural resources. Concepts such as the design of net-energy-producer homes, incorporation of renewable and energy efficient technologies, use of nontoxic or responsibly harvested “green” building materials, farmland preservation, incorporation of common wildlife space, and the nature of community design will be explored. Previously offered as 3 credits without laboratory component. Prerequisites: ENVS 201 , 202 , and either ENVS 341 or permission of the instructor.
