Special emphasis is placed on those aspects of chemistry that have connections to physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, and medicine. Topics include measurements and units, nuclear chemistry, atomic and molecular structure, periodic properties of the elements, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, solutions, chemical reactivity, acids and bases, thermochemistry, and properties of gases.  This course, along with CHEM 120 , CHEM 122 , and CHEM 122L , fulfills the Core Curriculum Laboratory Sciences requirement.
