MUSC 230 - Woodwind Techniques I(1 cr) This two-course sequence (MUSC 230, 231 ) is designed for music majors to acquaint them with the pedagogical principles of woodwind performance. The student performs on the woodwind instruments with emphasis upon the four basic members of the family (clarinet, flute, oboe, bassoon). The method of organization involves two tracks: the development of the manipulative skills and the study of teaching techniques associated with instrumental music as related uniquely to the woodwinds. Public ensemble performance is expected. Prerequisites: Declared music major or music minor or permission of instructor.
