Driver Education 9-12 Endorsement

Program Goals:

  1. Identify procedures for coping with emergency driving situations. (INTASC 1,2,6, CSO 4.8)
  2. Identify the legal requirements for owning and operating a motor vehicle (e.g. registration, titling, licensing, etc. (INTASC 1,2,6,7,8, CSO 5.1)
  3. Describe knowledge regarding traffic laws and the need to support and observe such laws. (INTASC 1,6, CSO 5.2)
  4. Identify requirements described in the West Virginia Driver Licensing Handbook. (INTASC 1,6, CSO 5.9)
  5. Identify all highway signs, signals, and roadway markings. (INTASC 1,2,6, CSO 5.3)
  6. List rights and responsibilities of other roadway users, e.g. pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists. (INTASC 1,2,10,11, CSO 5.4)

 

A secondary education degree in any field (Physical Education preferred) is needed to complete this add-on endorsement.  Some states may require additional testing for certification.
