Chemistry, B.S.
Return to: Colleges/Departments/Programs
The chemistry program is designed to meet the needs of future chemists as well as students seeking graduate degrees in the sciences or professional degrees in pharmacy or medicine, dental, or veterinary fields. The curriculum is rooted in the five traditional areas of chemistry - analytical, physical, inorganic, organic, and biochemistry and emphasizes both physics and calculus as part of the degree. Each student will also gain independent research skills by carrying out an individualized in-lab project as the capstone and writing in the major course.
Chemistry offers multiple concentrations to fit each student’s goals: Traditional Track (with choice of a minor), Biochemistry (comprehensive), Biopharmaceutical Sciences (comprehensive), and Environmental Chemistry (comprehensive).
