PSCI 456 - Administrative Law

(3 cr) This course utilizes Supreme Court decisions to introduce students to the branch of law governing the functions and operations of administrative agencies. Among the topics addressed are the structure of the federal bureaucracy, constitutional constraints on administrative decision-makers, rulemaking and adjudication at the agency level, judicial review of agency action, relationship between Congress and administrative agencies, and due process protections afforded to individuals and businesses against administrative authority. Prerequisites: PSCI 100  or PSCI 101  or permission of instructor.
