NURS 590 - Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychopharmacology

(3cr) This course serves as an introduction to neuroscience, neuropathology, and psychopharmacology in order to develop a foundation for recognizing the lived experience of persons struggling with mental health disorders. This course will prepare the advanced practice nurse to link mental health disorders to both external and internal factors in order to make evidence supported treatment decisions utilizing a biopsychosocial approach to improve mental health outcomes.
