BIOL 383 - Ornithology(4cr) Ornithology is an abstract subject that draws upon many diverse areas of scientific knowledge. The biology of birds, including evolution, functional morphology, physiology, ecology and behavior will be covered. Field and museum laboratories emphasize identification and taxonomy of avifauna within the context of natural history and ecology. This course stresses contextual problem solving, not only rote memorization. Prerequisites: BIOL 103 and BIOL 104 ; or BIOL 211 and BIOL 212 ; or permission of instructor.
