MUSC 226 - Classroom Music Education

(3 cr) This course examines many philosophical and pedagogical perspectives on the role of music, the arts, and arts integration in the elementary school curriculum. It guides students toward practical applications of music and arts integration across the elementary curriculum through inquiry/project-based approaches to curriculum and pedagogy. This course also prepares students to design culturally relevant and artistically meaningful curriculum and assessment for diverse learners. Prerequisites: EDUC 150  and  .
