CHEM 450 - Research in Chemistry(1-3 cr) CHEM 450, Research in Chemistry, is the capstone and writing intensive course for chemistry majors. The student, with the guidance of a faculty advisor or internship mentor, will plan and execute a research project. The student will have the opportunity to work on a long-term project that could lead to a presentation at a scientific meeting or a publication in a scientific journal. All chemistry majors need to take at least four credits of CHEM 450. These four credits should be spread over at least three semesters, and may enroll in only one credit in the first semester that it is taken. The requirements for this course may be partially met with an approved external internship. Approval of the Chemistry Department is required for enrollment in this course. Prerequisites: CHEM 315 and CHEM 315L .
