CHEM 311 - Chemical Pharmacology(3 cr) This course will examine the science and history of drugs and medicines, including common prescription and non-prescription medications, supplements, and drugs of abuse. Emphasis will be given to the structure and synthesis, clinical use, mechanisms of action, and side effects of each. The focus is on general pharmacological principles as well as medical ethics. Prerequisites: CHEM 315 , and either BIOL 104 or BIOL 211 ; or permission of the instructor.
