BIOL 425 - Internship in Biology

(1-6 cr)This course awards academic credit for Department of Biology-approved research supervised externally in a field, laboratory, or other professional setting which enables a student to gain practical knowledge in pure or applied science. A student wishing to enroll in this course must submit a written proposal (following department and/or agency guidelines that can be obtained from the chair of the Department of Biology) to the chair of the Department of Biology or his/her appointed representative before the 12th week of the semester preceding the internship. All proposals must be approved by a majority of the faculty members of the Department of Biology. Students must complete 3 to 6 credit hours to meet the requirements for a biology major.Students may enroll repeatedly up to a maximum of 6 total semester hours.Prerequisites: BIOL 394 .
