ART 104 - Introduction to the Visual Arts(3 cr)A corequisite or prerequisite for all 200 level and above studio and art history classes. This course is an introduction to the themes and concepts of contemporary art. Students begin to utilize the terms and language of art in discussion and writing about the relationship between form and content as it relates to and is utilized in contemporary artworks. Students are introduced to movements, Western and non-Western, in the history of art that have a strong influence on contemporary artists. For art majors/minors this course replaces ART 103 .
