The Graphic Design minor is designed to provide students with the opportunity to explore and gain proficiency in the area of visual communication and digital image making using both traditional media and current software used for print, illustration and web platforms. This minor may support a wide range of careers including those in publishing, public relations, promotion, branding, advertising and other communication fields. Students often attach the minor to degrees in Communication and New Media , Computer and Information Sciences , and Elementary Education .

Curriculum for a Minor in Graphic Design
The Department recommends that students considering a minor in graphic design contact the Chair of the Department of Contemporary Art and Theater to review a plan of action. Many courses are only offered in either the Fall or Spring and have pre-requisites that make it necessary to plan carefully for timely graduation. Total hours required, 18 Hours:
