HIST 304 - The American Civil War , 1850-1865

(3 cr) A study of the causes of the Civil War and of the war itself, with emphasis on the military conflict and the societies which waged it. The course will examine the economic, social, cultural, and political causes of the war; Union and Confederate political and military leadership; the conduct of military and naval operations; and the relationship between war and society.
